WHAT: "International Beach Clean-Up" along the "California Coastal Trail"
WHEN: Saturday, September 16, 2000 -- Begin: 10 AM / Finish: 1:30 PM
WHERE: Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, Klamath/Orick, CA, Northern Coast
MEETING PLACE: Gold Bluffs Beach Campground (restrooms and drinking water available)
HOW LONG: Drive: 45-60 minutes one way/ 30 miles; Hike: 1 to 2 hours/3-5 miles; Work: 2-3 hours
WHO: National Coast Trail Association Volunteers and California State Parks
WHY: "Maintain" a section of the "Calfornia Coastal Trail" by bagging marine debris and trash.
INCENTIVE: Make a difference, restore the environment, & experience the California Coastal Trail!
NOTE: YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO PAY DAY-USE FEES TO PARTICIPATE.
LOGISTICS: LEAVE TRINIDAD AND GO NORTH ON HWY 101, CONTINUE ON THROUGH ORICK AND TURN LEFT ONTO DAVISON ROAD. DAVISON ROAD IS NARROW AND UNPAVED AND WILL TAKE YOU EVENTUALLY TO THE GOLD BLUFFS BEACH CAMPGROUND. USE CAUTION WHEN DRIVING THIS UNPAVED ROAD. LOOK FOR THE COORDINATOR EITHER AT THE ENTRANCE BY THE REGISTRATION BOOTH OR AT THE CAMPGROUND ITSELF ( A WHITE VOLVO WITH OREGON LICENSE PLATES).
